New Do

I really really thought that Teagan would never be in the group of little girls that did this when they were little but she proved me wrong! She was actually downstairs having quiet time alone during Taylee's nap. I had given her the usual paper, crayons, and scissors to keep her occupied for a few. I came down to check on her and chat with her. As I was talking with her I started to help her clean up her play food, and that's when I noticed picture number two, the humongous chunk of hair hidden in the play kitchens drawer. I closed the drawer without saying anything and turned to Teagan continueing to talk to her taking a closer look at her, her hair to be more exact. "Its shorter huh?" was her sudden remark. Then the absolute breakdown began. She burst out into tears screaming that she wasn't a princess anymore because there weren't any princesses with short hair. I explained to her that she really shouldn't have chosen to do it, but it was done now, and she would be a princess regardless of what length of hair she had. When I came down to take pictures of the crime scene her breakdown began again. "No Mom, No, nobody can see, NOBODY!". I told her we should take the pictures to have for her to see when she was older. We went and got it cut the next day. She got lucky that she has so much hair Jackie only had to cut about an inch off, and a little more on the fronts to even it out. You can hardly see the damage although I think one side looks a bit thinner (mostly to my eye I'm sure). I have never heard Teagan be so quite as during her hair cut. She didn't say a single word. And she wasn't being shy, I think she was a little ashamed. Anyhow like I said I didn't think she would be one to cut her hair because she loves it being long so much, and protests to getting it cut every time I've brought it up. And look at her own reaction to her own decision! However I guess it just proves that curiosity certainly is a very very strong determinant in children's decisions.

  1. I know it's not funny-but it is. Too cute Teagan- I love the hiding of the evidence.
