Ady One Month

Well we are having some long nights and long days but it is still a joy. Adalynn is just a sweet little chunk full of love! I've decided one of my favorite noises is her little grunts which she will all to soon grow out of. We've been dealing with thrush so its been severely painfull feeding her but we are finally on the road to recovery with some ridiculously expensive probiotics. She spits up quite a bit so she always thinks she is hungry, so between the medicating the two of us and feeding her its a full time job! Well worth it though. The girls are enjoying her. Teagan is so proud of her. What a little blessing! Now if I could only get a wink of sleep!

Will You Be Mine?

The girls had a great Valentines Day. Teagan had a party at preschool, it was so exciting for her. She is starting to write her name really well so it was fun for her to sign all of her valentines personally (and also a lot of work!). We sent Valentines off in the mail and the girls made a special valentine for Grandma Moss and delivered it to her work. We also delivered some Valentine Cheer to a couple of Brandon's co-workers. On Valentines day we had pink gravy with our biscuits, Brandon said it ruined it because its a man meal, he was joking because he still ate as much as usual! At church Teagan sang with the primary and did a great job. I just love all my sweeties!

Adalynn Nora

We were very happy with the name Adalynn, but I had to sit and write its spelling along with a couple of other middle name options in the hospital many times. And after getting to know our little angel a little more we decided on the middle name Nora after Brandon's Grandma Moss. These are the pictures we took of her at the hopsital getting ready to bring her home. It felt so great to bring her home. Teagan and Taylee ended up staying another night at their Aunt Dana's house so they didn't get home until Sunday afternoon. Brandon was a sweetheart and decorated the outside of the house to welcome us home. Mom always did that for me so he felt it important. It was really special to see that coming home and made Adalynn and I feel super loved!

Meeting Sister

So we had literally looked through thousands of names and had the hardest time choosing one for her! I had finally narrowed it down to a list, and had a top three on that list. Luckily before the girls came over on Friday Brandon and I were able to feel very happy with the name Adalynn. The girls were both so happy and curious. Teagan had all kinds of questions. Taylee mostly just wanted to look at all of her cute features, feet, hands, nose, etc. And just like Teagan did when I had Taylee, Taylee seemed to have grown larger overnight in body and spirit!

The Delivery

In the preop room they determined I was dilated to about a 4.5. Brandon hadn't eaten all day, they assured him he had plenty of time to go grab a burger. While he was gone the nurse and I gathered up my things and walked across the corridor, in that short walk I dilated to a 7.5. When I got laying on the bed the nurse put the monitor back on and immedietly called the Doctor to come in because the babies heartbeat was so low and not beating normally. Brandon had just gotten into the room at this point and was eating his burger in the corner with a "what the heck is going on?" expression. They threw an oxygen mask on me and began prepping me for whatever could happen as her heartbeat kept unstable. Luckily things were able to move real quickly. Once Dr. Johnson broke my water I was soon after dilated to a 9.5. When my water was broken they were able to see the meconiam and called in the special pediatric unit to be there to get her lungs etc taken care of as soon as she came out. So with a room full (Brandon said there was 18 staff total) and my super supportive husband our little angel was born at 7:45 les than two hours after ariving at the hospital. She was so very sweet and beautiful from the moment she came out. Weighing 8LB 9OZ, measuring 20 3/4 inches. A head full of dark hair, and beautiful bright eyes.

Checking In

Thursday January 28th 2009
I had been having light contractions the night before. I checked into the hospital in the morning because I hadn't felt the baby move for several hours. As soon as they hooked me up you could hear her heart just fine. So I was off for a day of trying to get a few things done before she came. I had pains all day but nothing severe enough to stop me from taking Teagan to school and running errands. However by the time I picked Brandon up at about 4:00 they were starting to hurt. We tried going home for me to lie down to see if they would subside but after about a half hour at home I announced to Brandon that we better get moving on getting the girls bags packed. We did so and dropped the girls off at Brandon's parents house on the other side of town. It was close to 6:00 when we checked into the hospital. This a shot of me going into change into my beautiful hospital gown, and below waiting to check in.
